About The Website Design Studio

The Website Design Studio was set up in 2006 by its owner Liz Wilkinson. For many years, Liz designed online training courses and web applications for large companies – Reuters, Lloyds TSB and PricewaterhouseCoopers to name just a few. There she learnt the importance of professionalism, good screen presentation and the clarity of the written word and carries these concepts forward into her work as a web designer.

Our web design principles

The starting points for all our website designs are the principles of good web communication:

• Easy to read text fonts
• Simple navigation systems (intuitive for the visitor to use)
• Minimal use of background images (which can distract from the content)
• Quick to appear on screen (no annoying flash animations that take ages to load)

• Excellent graphic design (ensuring the site looks good and gives a positive impression)

Our mission

Web design is a highly competitive market and Liz focuses on the specialist niche of web design for individuals such as artists, writers and authors and small businesses and in particular, those who are uncomfortable with the web technologies.

Liz manages, deisgns and codes most projects herself, calling in one of her team of reliable freelance contacts if expertise in a certain area is required. Thus, The Website Design studio can offer a full range of web design services including hosting, web development and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) advice but keeping costs at a reasonable level.

You can expect a friendly, courteous, personal service at all times. No question is too trivial. Every stage of the web design process will be explained in terms you can understand. The aim is to produce affordable, well designed websites and offer full support for the lifetime of your website

The Website Design Studio is based in Steyning, West Sussex but Liz designs websites clients all over the country and even internationally. All discussions can be done over the phone or by email. For marketing reasons, Liz also runs three other websites offering specialist web design services:
